United Way Announces Funding Allocations for 2008
United Way has announced its allocations for 2008. Forty-three programs at 28 United Way-partner agencies received funding. The funds allocated came to United Way from donors that contribute to its Community Impact fund and through direct designations as specified by the donor.
“The allocation of funds is a critical part of the United Way structure,” said John Ballengee, president and CPO of United Way of Central West Virginia. “Handled entirely by community volunteers, this process provides accountability and community-based decision making.”
