Host a Collection Drive

Consider hosting a collection drive for shoes, socks, warm winter items, or food.  These are items that are frequently requested.

Equal Footing Shoe Fund

Our Goal is Simple!  Break down learning barriers to give every child a chance in the classroom.  EFSF will deliver brand new shoes, upon request by the counselor or principal, to all schools in Kanawha, Putnam, Boone, Braxton, Clay, and Logan counties.  The referrals come directly from the school counselors to the United Way of Central West Virginia.  We work quickly to deliver the shoes in a descreet manner to the child.  We need new shoes sizes 12Y - 12 adult.

Socktober

During the month of October, we have "Socktober" and ask that for donations of NEW socks from child to adult sizes.  In partnership with the EFSF, five pair of socks accompany the shoes that are provided to students through the EFSF.  This is a great way to give back to your community.  Socks are distributed year round by United Way of Central West Virginia.

Food

Food insecurity is an issue we address everyday in every community.

Take Action!

Togther, we will make a greater impact on creating a thriving community. United Way mobilizes communities to action so all can thrive.
